As a working musician I keep my instruments and gear organized in "kits". These kits have all the supporting gear for the instrument or instruments I am using in a performance. Dobro, Lap Steel, Pedal Steel all require different pedal boards, stands and sound reinforcement equipment. My cables were an odd assortment of cables that I had acquired over the years. The criteria for cable replacement was "when it failed during a show" it was replaced. This lead to some disastrous cable failures at really bad times. I knew I had to get my cables in order. Get odd matching colors for a particular instrument.

The wrap of the instrument cables is aptly named Rattlesnake, since it has the texture and durability you would expect from a reptile living in the desert - super tough. When I converted the entire, signal chain of my guitar, ('54 epiphone, devon, played through '65 bandmaster), to Rattlesnake cables, I had to turn down! I not shitting you. The signal, was so much more efficient, I needed to bump down a bit. Plus, with the shielding on the cable, can handle all the abuse a gigging musician can throw at it. Beer - cowboy boot, heels - carelessly coiling it up, drunk, at 2 a.m. They're great! And they look great too. I've had mine for years - as have, all of my band mates - and they're flawless.
