What is a patch cable?
Patch cables are small cables used to connect a variety of guitar pedals either in a pedal line or on a pedalboard. Pedalboard patch cables are also used as "jumper" cables connecting multiple pedalboard or as jumpers on the input section of some vintage amps like Marshall, Fender, etc.
Depending on your needs you may need to configure the best patch cables for pedalboard routing, you may need certain types of plugs for the best profile into your pedals. The shape of the plug configuration is vital as well. U-Config (where both plugs are facing the same direction) is perfect for cables connecting to jacks that are side by side. S-Config (where the plugs are facing in opposite direction) is great for connecting a pedal with a side jack to a pedal that has top-mount jacks.
Typically, how long are patch cables?
The length of patch cables is important to maintain close spacing for your pedals. Our minimum length we can do (as a custom patch Flex Patch cable) is 4", and there is no maximum length. The most popular length is 6" and is the most versatile and compact length. Our Pro Patch has a minimum of 8" due to its thicker cable diameter.
