Our TRS Cable is a dual conductor cable with the same outside diameter as our standard instrument cable. Our custom, US milled TRS cables use Neutrik Gold TRS plugs. If you're looking for the best TRS cable for your instrument or studio needs, look no further.
If you're wanting a custom TRS cable (length, plug configuration, etc) or TRS patch cables - they are available, but you will need to submit a custom request
What does TRS stand for?
TRS is an acronym that stands for Tip, Ring and Sleeve - which reference the conductors of the plug. With each TRS cable a 20AWG conductor would be connecting to the tip contact of the plug, a conductor on the ring contact of the plug and the internal braided copper shield is bound to the shield of the plug.
What is a TRS Cable?
A TRS instrument cable is simple a cable that contains two internal conductors along with a shield. Standard instrument cables use a single conductor and shield. The purpose of this type of cable is to pass a pair of signals instead of a single signal.
For example a TRS cable could be used as a stereo cable passing left and right signals in a single cable – like an auxiliary cable or headphone extension cable. A TRS cable for guitar could be used to pass multiple pickup sources (piezo and magnetic pickup) down a single cable. A TRS audio cable could also be used as an XLR or balanced cable used in many recording interfaces.
We have a variety of wire mills that we work with. All of the wire mills we work with our in the United States. We take extreme pride that our cable is milled in the United States and hand assembled here in Missoula, Montana.
The instrument junction box uses a 20AWG conductor, which is compatible and safe to use with any instrument cable - including patches, etc. The speaker junction box uses a pair of 12AWG conductors, which are beefy and can handle the higher voltages associated with speaker cables.

The order experience was great. My order showed up quickly. When I opened the box I saw the instrument cables were a nice reusable cloth bag. I got the rattlesnake weave and they look awesome. I tried using the cables out and they feel like a really high quality cable They're nice a flexible but it looks like the ends will last. Plugged it in and there's no obvious hums of any kind. I live in a pretty old house with old electrical, and every weak link in the chain magnifies an issue pretty easily. Even my Mogami cable has more hum than this. The guitars and amps I tried all sounded great. No complaints based on this first impression. Would definitely buy more.
Thoughts about our Service:
Great! Prompt emails from the company informing me about the status. A personal message from Hank was a nice touch.

Thoughts about our Service:
When I say "excellent communication," it's the first supplier I've had send a welcome video message from the company when the item was shipping. Great all-around buying experience!

First of all, the whole experience in buying and receiving feels like a boutique cable (b/c it is). Pick your length, you connector types, your colors, etc. I opted for a 15' TRS Copper, non-"snake head" cable. The cable comes in a box in a cloth bag like you might find with high-end dress shoes, stickers, a velcro cable wrap, etc. It's just so well put together and packaged - completely unlike buying your typical Planet Waves or George L or Lava Cables. The Rattlesnake cables seems to be almost the same as Caulfield Cable's Tour Series in terms of construction, capacitance (the Rattlesnakes have better capacitance than the Caufield Standard Series), flexibility, etc. Even without the 20% discount that you can regularly get, the Rattlesnakes are significantly less expensive, AND have better plugs. And there are the regular sales for different colors, even colors that you don't normally see on their site. It's a win-win!
I bought this on a whim, basically. I found a blog article. Then I read up on the cable quality on TheGearPage (all glowing reviews). I compared to Caulfield Cables. Rattlesnake wins, easily. Half the price of Lava, better than Planet Waves, cheaper than the equivalent Caufield. These will be my standard go-to instrument, speaker, etc. cables from now on. And if they start making the MIDI cable variants that Caufield does, I'll switch to those too.
Thoughts about our Service:
I have not had to deal with customer service, but the discussions on thegearpage specifically call out their outstanding customer service. YMMV
