I love Rattlesnake cables. I have several I use at church and at home. My signal chain is as follows:
Johnny Marr Jaguar / 60s Lacquer Jazzmaster (with custom Stonewall Jazz and P90 pickups) routed to the board through one of several Rattlesnake cables (see photo).
to my Walrus Audio Canvas Tuner (which displays a lovely picture of my wife when not engaged). Then on to my Fairfield Circuitry compressor. Following next is the Catalinbread Epoch Boost Preamp. For my gain, I have a Beetronix custom Star Wars Royal Jelly (great to blend the wet/dry signal with the OD and Fuzz). Next is my Walrus Audio ACS1 (for my Vox, Fender, and Marshall tones). Then onto my Dunlop volume pedal (used for a master volume, for swells). After that, we have my Chase Bliss Dark World Reverb (I love lots of verb). I have the Midi from this pedal going to my Disaster Area DMC. The signal chain then goes to my Source Audio EQ (great for toggling between guitars). And onto my Old Blood Noise Endeavors Reflector V3 Chorus (love the Wrinkle and Washed options). Once we get to my Strymon Timeline, we break out into stereo for this and the next Source Audio Ventris reverb. Both the Timeline and Ventris (as well as Dark World) are controlled by the DMC. I have 12 presets with a variety of sounds I regularly use in church worship. Then, I am stereo out to my Roland Jazz Chorus 40 (used as a clean pedal platform amp). I also have a separate Boss footswitch used to engage the onboard chorus effect for those perfect dimensional sounds. The footswitch also runs to the amp via a Rattlesnake cable!
Thank you, Rattlesnake, for connecting my guitars to board to amp and more! That tone cleanly flows through all your pretty cables!
About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
