Pedal Line Friday :: Aaron C.

Aaron C.

This is the board I use with my band Morning Giants live and in the studio. It is in a state of flux with some of the gains but stays focused in the main base tone of Ethos Clean Fusion Deluxe.

Signal chain:

tuner > karma Odr clone > karma mostortion clone > ethos harmonic Bias tremolo > Ethos Clean a fusion deluxe > strymon Volante > Eventide H9 max > free the tone final boost > Louis Electric Buster (higher powered tweed deluxe variant)

I use the two karma pedals to boost the Ethos Clean Fusion deluxe for solos and accentuate special parts. The Ethos Clean Fusion Deluxe (CFD) does Dumble and BF Fender Tones. It has various boost and EQ abilities itself. (Note the small painted pedal. F-Boost for boosting clean Fender channel) I use the Tremolo in conjunction (The harmonic trem) as a Leslie or Univibe depending on the songs) The Strymon Volante is used for longer (Pink Floyd) Echo. I also use a super hyped version for spacey sections and tension.  The Eventide h9 is primarily used for big reverbs and possible shimmer.  Final Boost is a take up or attenuate for the whole board.  I’ve used various other gains in the front and am always trying to find the holy stack.

Submit Your Pedal Line!

About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.

All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!

You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.

These cables are top notch! The snake head cable are my favorite and they look so sharp with the different color options. I the flex patch cables really improved the noise of my pedal board. Can't recommend these cables enough!

Great Quality, price and People! The experience is good old hands on talk to people, they take the time to understand your needs then share their experiences to help you make a smarter purchase and avoid mistakes. Maybe I’m old fashion but I miss that, lucky to have found these folks. I lost a lot of gear during the Florida Hurricanes last year, slowly re-rigging. Trying to be smarter about how I run my cables to avoid rat nest of cables. These looms are great way to do that, got one made for each amp, what arrived far exceeded my expectations. I have since ordered bunches more for instruments and redoing some racks. Really nice to get great quality stuff made here in the USA. Highly recommend!

When my favorite, "boutique" cable company shut down a while ago, I frantically started looking for another company that offered high-quality, affordable cables, and that provided excellent customer service (for us finicky musicians!). I stumbled upon Hank and Rattlesnake Cable -- they're in a neighboring state, and I liked the small-town, small-business vibe -- so I took a chance and ordered a guitar cable. Well, I now have a full set of guitar and speaker cables, and Rattlesnake is my new fave! Excellent build and sound, and Hank is the best! Highly Recommended to all my friends and students!
