Pedal Line Friday :: Aaron D

Aaron D

This is my live gigging bass pedalboard. The board itself is from Temple Audio and is powered by a Cioks DC7. Of course, all of the cables are from Rattlesnake. Chain is as follows:

Shure GLXD16+: This has been such a great wireless unit.

EBS Multicomp: Got this after a recommendation from Duncan Mullins (Nashville kat)

Bearfoot FX Blue Bee: This overdrive pedal is the most recent addition to my board. I primarily use it to add more grit in bigger moments of a song, particularly in worship.

Peterson Strobo Stomp: This tuner is built like a tank and is always accurate.

Origin Effects Bassrig Super Vintage: I almost sold this preamp pedal a few years ago, but gave it one more chance and have loved it ever since.

No real frills to the board, but it gets the job done. I primarily work within the southern gospel and country genres, but play within other genres sporadically and am active on my church’s worship team when I’m not on the road.

Submit Your Pedal Line!

About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.

All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!

You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.

We’ve all been there: relying on 'quality' cables from big-box stores because they’re easy. But as my latest project grew, so did my cable management nightmare. Moving to a 4-Cable Method (4CM) meant four individual lines cluttering the floor and a constant headache trying to remember which lead went where. I reached out to two companies on a weekend. Hank called me personally within an hour. He didn't just take an order; he did the homework. Hank researched my specific gear, downloaded the manufacturer's wiring diagrams, and even steered me toward straight connectors when I wrongly thought I needed right-angles. He built me a custom 20-foot, 3-cable loom and a 'Snakehead' instrument cable that is absolutely rock-solid. The construction is elite, and the packaging is somehow more surgical than an iPhone’s. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for a callback from the other vendor. If you’re tired of skimping on your signal chain and want your time back, go with Rattlesnake. The leather-tagged, color-coded convenience alone is a game-changer.

best cables i've ever used in 54 years spankin' the plank, run by a certified guitar playing gentleman named hank, whom's personal attention to every customer is second only to the almighty itself. quality american owned operated and made products, fantastic communication and support, incredible attention to detail from order to arrival are hallmarks of what businesses are supposed to be like. i don't use these cuz they're free. i pay for them. so i m endorsing them cuz i want to. they are the finest and ultimately the most economical, as these will last your whole career instead of a week.
