I’d like to preface this pedalboard writeup by saying I play either a Fender ’62 Reissue Strat or a custom Tele with Seymour Duncan Fat Cat P-90 pickups, depending on the band. The Tele is used in classic rock band Gearbox and the Strat is for the original band Cenariow.
Currently the board goes into a Marshal Origin 50 not utilizing any effect loops.
It all starts with a Keeley Compressor Plus that is always on. It comes in handy because I play a lot of slide guitar.
Next up is the TC Electronix Sub'n Up. I rarely use it except for a Sabbath solo.
That goes into the EHX C9, an organ simulator. Though I don’t use it much, there are classic rock moments where it’s very effective.
My dirt pedals start the the JHS Magic Hat clean boost. That pairs really well with the Tumnus Deluxe. Either one is on during songs and the other boosts for solos. The Keeley Blues Disorder is for when I need more gain. It pairs well with Tumnus for heavy OD solos.
The chromatic tuner is followed by a Keeley Dyno my Roto. It’s a 3 in 1 pedal and I use all three settings every gig. The Tri- Chorus is a lush 80’s sound and the Rotary is pretty good. The Keeley 30 ms Double Tracker is really made for stereo rigs. I use the Abbey Mode to fatten things up. It’s supposed to reproduce the sound of two identical tape tracks played and recorded together as done at Abbey Road Studios in the day. To me it sounds like a mild chorus with no LFO.
I recently got this Keeley Soft Reverb because the Origin 50 amp had no reverb. It’s an okay pedal for its price point.
Last but not least is the Earthquaker Devices Silos delay. It’s a tap tempo delay with presets. I like it. It’s great.
There are a lot of Keeley pedals here, so sue me. The rock star of the setup is the Tumnus Deluxe, a versatile Klon clone that’s hard to beat. Hope you like it.

About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
