READ ANOTHER TESTIMONIAL
Hey, my name is Matt and I play guitar in a band from Boston called Pile. This is the current iteration of my board from the last tour I was on.
Currently, I’m playing a Reverend Descent RA Baritone which gets plugged into the 29 Pedals EUNA (buffer/line driver). From there, the Peterson StroboStomp Mini is used in the loop of the EUNA. After the EUNA, the signal goes to the Revv G8. In the loop of the G8 is the Disruptive Music Tech Enhancifier (boost/sweetener), the Decibelics Golden Royale (klone overdrive), and the Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword (overdrive/distortion). Enhancifier is my always-on (which is kind of like a treble booster, I guess), and the other drives/boosts from there get used in different combinations. I run through a classic Marshall-style amp so none of these drives are set super dirty. After the drives, the next in the chain after the loop from the G8 is the Boss Waza Dimension C. I use this pretty sparingly but it sounds awesome whenever I need a weird chorus sound. Lastly, is the Source Audio Collider for some reverb and delay. I also use this pretty sparingly.
Despite what this kind of looks like, with the loops, knobs, and footswitches, I do like things pretty simple. The top row is essentially all utilities, and the bottom row is what actually gets used during a show. I could easily run our set with just the Longsword and a tuner, and you probably wouldn’t know the difference.
This all gets run into the front of a Suhr SL68, which is a 100-watt plexi. Thank god it has a master volume on that thing. It actually sounds really great clean too, but it gets run at the edge of breakup. Nothing crazy, standard procedure for the most part.
And of course, the IEC cables and instrument cables are all Rattlesnake Cables with the red weave (guess who never loses his cables!).
I’m a firm believer in measure twice, cut once; buy once, cry once; quality over quantity. My rig is reliable, quiet and noiseless, and loud and dirty. Get the right gear to do the right job, and then you can concentrate on the fun part.

About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
