Pedal Line Friday :: Adam of Mad Wet Sea

Adam of Mad Wet Sea

Hey Guys!

Love the site, love how you engage your audience, and once my car is fixed, I hope to love your cables. It never fails; as soon as I have spare cash to upgrade my rig, cars or kids take it away...haha

I wanted to send in my board for pedal line friday, so, here we go

It's fairly simple, but we subscribe to a simple soup. The board has gone through changes, and is easily modified if filling in for a cover band, but right now, it's set up for our band, which is sonically like Megadeth and Black Sabbath. Currently, the amp rig is either a JCM800, Laney GH50L, or a Marshall 18W clone built to sound like a Super Lead.

From guitar, we go to a Wylde wah, and then into an OCD, into a MXR microamp, a Dr Tone delay, and finally a TC Electronic tuner.

As I said, we play classic metal, so the OCD pushes the amp for some more gain, with the Microamp set for solo. The Dr Tone is used for thickening solo's and ambience when playing clean. Clean is easily achieved by rolling the guitar volume down and using the neck pickup

Always loved Zakk Wylde and my sound is trying to cop a version of me from a sound similar to his. Tried many wahs, and so far, his has stayed the longest on the board. Similarly, never found a TS type pedal gave me what i wanted to hear when goosing an amp, and as such, stick with OD pedals. It definitely helps us push out some crushing riffs!

Again, hoping to be able to afford your cables soon! Thanks for running the contests, we are in everyone that Canada can be in!

Take care, and keep rockin!

Submit Your Pedal Line!

About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.

All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!

You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.

I’ve had several different lengths and variations of rattlesnake cables and I love them all. They are durable, don’t make any extra noise, and have lasted me 4 years of INTENSE use (and they look sick). I couldn’t recommend a better and more reliable cable for my guitar and pedal board.

Customer service was fantastic as was the packaging and cables . They use high quality components and these cables are sturdy and sound great . I won't... Read

Super cable! Using it on my Oscar Schmidt Ubass. The cable keeps all of the deep, upright bass tones that come from the 'bass ukulele'. I am sure it will only get better as the cable breaks in. Cable weave is definitely wear resistant, a little coarser than I expected, but should last longer than me... Read

Super cable! Using it on my Oscar Schmidt Ubass. The cable keeps all of the deep, upright bass tones that come from the 'bass ukulele'. I am sure it will only get better as the cable breaks in. Cable weave is definitely wear resistant, a little coarser than I expected, but should last longer than me at this point. Now I see why you might want the 'snake head' version if you keep the cable close to your instrument. Excellent - personalized service. Appreciated the follow up email as well though there were no problems to talk about!
