Hi there! My name is John Henry Johnson @johnhenrysmusic on social media and I am a professional guitarist in Austin, TX. This is a cool pedal board I like to use for my main acoustic Rig and utilizes the very cool Rattlesnake TRS Splitter.
I use a special guitar with 4 pickups (a piezo, transducer under body for bass percussion, microphone for other body percussion, and a magnetic pickup)
The piezo and microphone get blended at the guitar and go from a single mono Rattlesnake cable to the Red Eye Pre amp on the right side. The Transducer and magnetic pickup go out from a Rattlesnake TRS into the splitting unit, from there the transducer is sent to the Bose T8 mixer and the magnetic pickup is sent to the Spark boost on the far right, and then into the mixer.
From there I send only the magnetic pickup out of the mixer separately to the DigiTech Whammy pedal and the Bose Octaver, and each back into the mixer. This gives me the ability to blend the effects with my sound and since they only go from the magnetic pickup, only the sounds of the strings are affected. The Oc-3 has a unique feature which lets me only apply an octave to the bottom 3 strings, which I then blend beneath my main guitar sound with the mixer for a very full and deep tone.
From the mixer I run stereo out into the strymon timeline delay, and then into the TC Hall of Fame. That goes stereo out and then I also send the transducer separately from the mixer to front of house so that they can send it to the subs and make a very big sound that.
This is a super versatile and beautiful system that lets me fill very large venues with just my acoustic guitar, video below!
About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
