Bio:

In the spring of 2021, I was jamming with my friends Brian (Stratocaster) and Lewis (drums) in Lewis' basement studio. I had my acoustic Martin 00-15 playing songs I had written. After about an hour, I asked Brian to play something so I could take a break. He started to play the instrumental surf tune Diamond Head. I was immediately blown away! That summer I ordered a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp and a Fender Am Pro II Stratocaster. After 40 years of playing several genres of acoustic guitar, I was inspired to "go electric." We have been playing 60's surf and instrumentals, spy & spaghetti western (The Ventures, The Chantays, Dick Dale, The Shadows, etc.) ever since.

The Catalinbread Topanga gives me a clean spring reverb sound. It's a very essential pedal. The two tremolo pedals are quite different. The Catalinbread Valcoder has a choppy square-wave tremolo sound while the Jam Chill has a smooth sine-wave sound. The Polytune 3 Tuner is a fantastic pedalboard tuner. I have it set on buffer mode for running the two 10' cables.

The idea of having a board with only four pedals is to keep the signal as clean as possible all the while keeping the sound faithful to the genre. Spring reverb and tremolo are the signature sounds of 60's surf and instrumental music.

Thanks!

Submit Your Pedal Line!

About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.

All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!

You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.

I placed an order for 2 cables, both the snake head version. One in red the other in their limited Oxblood. Both 15'. Already had a standard in Dirty Tweed that I got at Christmas and have been using exclusively. The sound from these gives more depth, clarity and range not found anywhere else. I... Read

Firstly and most importantly, the cables are fantastic ! The build quality is top notch and I couldn't be happier using cables I don't have to give a second thought to. They also look pretty freakin' cool as well. I also purchased a mono to dual mono splitter. It's a little box, but it feels like a... Read

Already had a standard in Dirty Tweed that I got at Christmas and have been using exclusively. The sound from these gives more depth, clarity and range not found anywhere else. I couldn't believe what a difference a cable could make. I got the Oxblood for my bass and the red for guitars. These are the only cables I will use now. Others have been retired. They came fast, within 2 days. Got a personal thank you video from owner, thanks Hank, something I have never gotten from any other company. Let me know when build was started and when order went in mail. They are first class all the way. Came with box full of goodies, each in it's own drawstring bag (cool!) And a note pad with personal thank you note on front page. This is the best thing you can ever do for your guitar(s) and amp(s)!! Nothing better! Customer service was great, fast and personal. I ordered: 15' snake head in Oxblood 15' snake head in Red

They also look pretty freakin' cool as well. I also purchased a mono to dual mono splitter. It's a little box, but it feels like a tank. Solid construction and feel. The packaging is like nothing I've ever seen. Beautifully done with obvious care. It was like a wee Christmas present in July, little goodies, protective cloth bags, info, personal note, etc. I don't think any company on earth takes this much care on a customer order. Who are these people? This was my first order with Rattlesnake and I'm already sold for life. Cheers to Hank and the team ! Ok....so the customer service was off the charts. After receiving a phone call to clarify an issue on one of the cable connections, I then received a personal video from Hank, thanking me for my order. I love these guys. Such personal service and attention to detail AND a superior product makes me want to shout out from the rooftops. Best gear experience of my life and I've been at it for almost 50 years kids! Will always recommend Rattlesnake to my musical mates.
