Hi Hank, I've been on your list for a while love what you're doing up there in MT, really enjoyed your piece on Steve Albini (rip). Im a Wyo/CO native, hobbyist/diyer. Anyway finally thought I'd share my boards (sorry no cables to showcase). First one is my home guitar noodle board...I play bass in my band. As a tube amp home brewer I like the idea of 'channel' options but prefer simplicity of a single channel build, so the obne signal blender is a winner for live playing having up to 3 base sounds w level control for each...and then a/b/c/y parallel combos! seriously can't praise this $120 pedal enough!
Signal chain is:
Tuner-> obne signal blender;
Loop 1 is my 'clean' channel, mod effects:
JHS Unicorn ->EHX bass clone chorus -> MXR carbon copy -> EHX oceans 11
Univibe into delay into the trem verb of the oceans 11 gets some great swirly sounds
Loop 2 is the dirty channel:
Fulltone ranger (rangemaster, but is really a great overdrive to cut thru the mix w a very powerful master volume to slam downstream) -> beetronix overhive (excellent standalone overdrive but does great distortion too, again excellent master volume) -> beetronix octahive (switchable silicon fuzz or Octavia sounds)...and don't forget the green channel on the obne, this is a clean boost (again with separate volume control) that is stand alone or combine in parallel with the loops.

Next one is my bass board, in our pay to play rehearsal space often the amps are trash so this board gives me lots of options to run as a preamp into the power amps if needed.
Signal chain is:
Tuner-> EHX germanium muff (it was $50 used! But great overdrive and classic muff sounds'definitely has a weird vibe w temp changes) -> empress bass comp (best bass purchase I've ever made, but has some tricks up it's sleeve and works great with guitar too) -> trufi colordriver 9v v1, ok this is the best all around germanium overdrive/fuzz/preamp ever! The level control on the side has so much gain it works as a preamp or just slam the front of your amp. Next is a beetronix royal jelly (great for a bass fuzz on the overdrive side, and the level and blend controls give tons of options) -> way huge atreides (crazy fuzz/phaser/octave'one trick pony but on bass is really cool), finally a dod bass flange -> diamond memory lane (mostly for a slap echo but is a very wide range of classic delays w a tap tempo).
And yes boards are both diy with joyo Li battery power supplies (no cords, holds charge for a couple weeks of regular playing and $69!)
About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
