Here is my setup for my pedalboard. I am a working bass player who plays and tours with Tupelo Honey A Van Morrison Celebration as well as an original project named Piel (music coming in spring of next year). As well as session work. My board is a simple set up I come out from my bass into the Dunlop Justin Chancellor Wah. I have it set for UK filter because it has a more dramatic sweep. I also have it set so the fuzz is on only when the wah treadle is being moved. It gives it a drastic and almost synth filter type effect. Next the signal runs into a Fodera model 2000 preamp. I toggle between active and passive basses depending on the gig . For years my main bass has been a Fodera. I love the preamp in that bass. This box is like having that preamp but when I have to play something passive like an older Jazz Bass it gives me the ability to get a similiar tone to my main bass. From there the signal goes to a Boss Metal Zone. Yes thatās right a Boss Metal Zone, legendary bass player T.M. stevens turned me on to using that pedal years ago for my overdrive /distorted tones. The active EQ shaping on. The pedal is amazing on bass. From there we go into the Electro Harmonix Bass Mono Synth. This is great for getting those 80ās pop and dance synth bass tones. From there I run into an Electro Harmonix Q-Tron, it brings that 70ās funk envelope filtering to my sound and is very responsive. From there I run into an Electro Harmonix small stone. I love phasers. I love phasers on bass and Iāve always found the small stone to be a little darker sounding which sounds so smooth on bass. Last the signal finishes at a Digitech Bass Multi Chorus. Rich and lush sounding I like to add it when I am playing fretless. The board is powered by a True Tone One Spot power supply. Of course there is the Funko Jeff Ament that lives on my pedalboard. Jeff is the reason I started playing bass and is a huge influence on me. So I like to have him there hanging out. Everything is tied together with the magnificent Rattlesnake cable you make. Thank you for making a fantastic product and having an amazing company.
Sincerely
Rob W.
About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
