READ ANOTHER TESTIMONIAL
This my primary pedalboard I use to gig with. The band I perform with is called Tonsure. We have an ig @tonsure.band. Anyways back to the board! To start with I will begin this journey with the pedals I use directly into the front of my amp.
It begins with the alter by farm pedals. It's a overdrive/fuzz pedal. I use it as an always on color pedal to add some grit to my tone. The next pedal is by rco and is called the skeptical pedal. It is a clone of the 29 euna input buffer pedal. So naturally I use it as an always on buffer to my chain.
The next pedal I use is the soul preacher by electro harmonix. It's an always on compressor pedal. I have this so I can keep my sound, well compressed! This leads us to pedals I do not have always which is the b494 pedal by yesterday effect. It's a clone of the ds-1 before they changed the circuit they use to this day. I use this as my distortion pedal when I want to have a heavier sound or just want to cover classic nirvana songs!
Next, is the bigg muff pi wicker pedal by electro harmonix. I use this when the song calls for some fuzz and not distortion. Perfect for punk songs!
The next pedal is a passive volume pedal by ernieball. I use this when I want to do swells in tandom with my reverb and delay pedal.
The next pedal is called the boost of the dead by farm pedals. I have this as an always on because it just add a nice little sweetness to the signal chain.
The next is my behringer eq pedal. I use this if I hear a harsh frequency I want to cut out.
Then finally just a simple outputbiffer that rco pedals sent me with the skeptical buffer I purchased. Next portion I will use bullet points to speed the process up.
Fx loop
1. Pitch fork by ehx/moog expression pedal. I use to pitch shift to varying degrees using the expression pedal
2.Fly agaric phaser by farm pedals- I use this with my qtron for grateful dead type leads and or for slow ethereal type songs
3.Qtron by ehx- I use this for an auto wah type of feel with funk songs my band and I perform and or for lead lines.
4. Small clone by ehx- I use this when performing 90's songs and or washed out lofi originals.
5.The choka by tc eletronics- Is a tremolo pedal I use when wanting to over pronounce lead melodies with my guitar.
6.The flight delay by jhs/m audio expression pedal- This I'm the only guitar player in the band I use this to add more space to my sound. With the expression pedal I can control the time control on the pedal so I can create very intresting effects during breakdowns of songs.
7. Cloudburst by strymon w/switch pedal- with this I use it to create a powerful wall of sound in tandom with the switch that I set to infinite mode which acts as a sustain pedal like for a piano.
8.ditto X2 tc electronics. This is a looper pedal that I primarily use to record root notes of a chord to create drone sounds. I then at times use the reverse function to add more chaos to the loop.
9. Oamp by 29 pedals. This is an output buffer I use at the end of my fx loop to clean up and regain signal strength to effects chain. Truly the secret hero to my board.
About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
