I maintain two boards for different places where I like to place in my home.
I abandoned the conventional boards recently and sold all that gear (several pedals and a Mesa Amp) and went with a Fender Tone Master Pro But I still like a board to organize On both boards I use a large Gator Board (30x16) with the Gator gbus 8 power supply mounted on the underside I have ( left to right)- the Fender Tone Master Pro- the expression pedal from Mission Engineering ( SP1 TMP)- I then either a KLIQ tiny tune or KORG PitchBack XS tuner that is being fed my the next item- the Digi Trio + band creator ( which is feed by the TMP and feeds the digital tuner) - even though the TMP Has a great tuner, I like to hear myself tune and I like to see the notes as I play and have a visual with these tuners. The KORG PitchBack XS is cool because it’s large and visible. So I use this in myMain ( music studio setup)- all connections going on to or off the board are done with the EX pedal board junction boxThis ensures that I am not stressing the TMP connectors - all cables are held down using Velcro ties that wrap around the cables and then stick to the Velcro on the Gator board. This makes for a “neat” layout - I try to get different colors in cables so I can trace things easily- I am using flat headed right angles cables so I can optimize my space - the outputs on my main board go to a Fender FR-212 for guitar and the bass/drums go to a Ashdiwn bass head (Original series) into a moded Eden Bass cab with a Celestion Speaker and a slightly nicer horn in the cab. This allows it to handle bass and drums better
My secondary board is pretty much identical except the tuner is KLIQ Tiny Tune and the TMP goes to an FR-12 fir guitar. The bass/Drums go to an Ampeg bas amp (Rocker RB-210)
About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.
All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!
You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.
