Pedal Line Friday :: Clark K.

Clark K.

So this is my xactone solutions assembled pedal board. Best board I've ever used. It is mounted to a trailer trash angled board and powered underneath with walrus phoenix . Pedal chain is as follows:

R Weaver violet vibe: I use this one for to reasons one or sounds like a vintage vibe and 2 Mr. Weaver is a super nice guy.

Sketchy Sounds hot snakes fuzz: I was looking for a fuzz saw this one. It was one sale so I impulsed sand bought it. It's almost too much, but hire that thick nasty spot we all want from a fuzz perfectly.

Goodrich buffered vp: I love a smooth swell like the steel players get and lots of my steel hero's use Goodrich. That was enough reps for Me to use one

Boss tu2: comes from the tuner out on the vp

Early 2000's silver nobels odr1 industry standard: my personal favorite od. Rich creamy, very amp like.

Wampler paisley deluxe: I pretty much use the blue side. It's a great recreation of the blues breaker with a bit more to it blends well with and other od to thicken things up or works well as an always on just to add a little grit

Menatone redsnapper mini: I have a couple of these. On this board space was a consideration, so I went with the mini. Idk how to describe it, but just plug into a fender tube amp, a Les Paul with p90 and let her sing, it will explain it self

Barber tone press: another impulse buy. I was looking for a comp with a blend Option, was in a shop in Austin and found this one. Have a couple of them. You feel it more than hear it and it feels good.

Durham sex drive: been on my board the longest of anything. It a boot that for me , who plays a little dark especially for a deluxe and tele as my main set up, I can add brightness and just a touch more bite and it subtle and not ear piercing

Mythos oracle: my favorite analog delay has always been a Maxon ad999. This one does that with a tap tempo. What else could you want?

JHS panther cub: Best ambient delay. I used an original panther for years, and needed more real estate on my board so I went to the cub. Can do the edge thing, or what ever you want and has the analog warmth

Warm audio CA1 chorus/vibrato: I was fortunate enough to buy my guitar hero, Pete Anderson boss ce 1 . It's the best chorus pedal ever in my Opinion, however they're big ash noisy, the warm audio does everything I loved about the ce1. In a smaller quieter package

Phaser: I play a lot of country/ country rock, so my board always needs a phaser. What's more outlaw than Waylon?

Boss ge7 modded by xactone: I got one because of uncle Larry. Let him explain.

Line 6 m9: industry standard. Simple to use. Modulation effects sound huge. And it saves space on the board.

Although not in the chain, the disaster area micro clock is an amazing tool. It's hooks to the oracle, cub and m9 and styncs time based effects to whether. Highly recommend.

Submit Your Pedal Line!

About a million years ago, I used to run a blog called EffectsBay. On that blog, the most popular feature I would run was Pedal Line Friday. This is where readers of the site would send pics of their pedalboard and a short (sometimes long) write-up of routing and thoughts about specific pedals and the reasoning why they liked it, etc. Readers. loved this. It was a great way to learn about new applications or techniques regarding pedals. It also brought a little inspiration and knowledge about pedals you were not familiar with. It also brought a great sense of community - people like sharing and absorbing cool things, right? It was a super popular feature, and I loved putting them together.

All you have to do is send a pic of your pedalboard (or pedal line - it doesn't have to be on a board) along with a short (or long) write-up of the board. We want a list of pedals (manufacturer/model), routing would be great, and, most importantly, why you use those particular pedals. Also, this is a great way to promote your band or musical project - include that information as well!

You can send the pic and the write-up to pedalline@rattlesnakecables.com.

I will be happily ordering all my cables from Rattlesnake! The service was amazing! I ordered my first cable from them, and within 24 hours I got an email with a personal video message (not just a generic welcome video) welcoming me to the Rattlesnake family and letting me know that my cable was shipping. The quality of the cable is fantastic, and I have no doubt it will last for decades! If I could give them more stars, I would!
