"Snake Head," as we like to call them, is a cable with the heat and abrasion-resistant sleeving stopping short at the end connecting to the instrument. This technique leaves a portion of raw cable touching the instrument, perfect for wrapping around guitar straps. Our TRS (Stereo / Balanced) Snake Head Instrument Cables come in 10', 15', and 20' lengths. Each cable can have a straight, right angle or a mix of TRS Neutrik Gold plugs - be sure to select the proper plug style connecting to the instrument.

Snake Heads are ideal for connecting your instrument to a pedalboard or directly to the amp. Suppose you're looking for a cable connecting from pedalboard to amp. In that case, we recommend our Standard Instrument Cable - where the weaving fully covers the cable from plug end to plug end.

Our TRS Snake Head is ideal for Rick-O-Sound setups or guitars that have a stereo output jack for Piezo/Magnetic pickup combinations. Please be aware that this is a Balanced or Stereo cable. If you're looking for an unbalanced mono Snake Head, please view our Snake Head Instrument Cable.

I have purchased several Rattlesnake brand cables in various configurations over the past couple of years. I have used other top brands in the past and I can honestly say that these cables are the best in quality, durability and sound. Yes, a high quality cable can improve the sound of your instrument. I tried Rattlesnake Instrument Cables after losing my favorite cable from another premium manufacturer. The Rattlesnakes are now my new favorite cable. I would certainly order from them again for future cable needs. The weave is perfect. Braided cables can be hit or miss for me. Some of them bunch up in weird ways and won’t lay flat. But the Rattlesnakes lay flat, coil easily, and resist tangling while being flexible enough for instrument use. The ends are reinforced with sturdy rubber. And the outer jackets won’t inadvertently spin open as they do on some other cables. Sonically, the cables are on the transparent end of the spectrum. Some cables use a higher capacitance for some high frequency roll off and a resonant peak at an assumed sweet spot. But the Rattlesnakes use a lower capacitance for a neutral, clear sound. I appreciate that Rattlesnake lists their capacitance and shielding specs instead of printing meaningless marketing catch phrases on fancy packaging. Capacitance, shielding, and build quality are the only things that matter on cables. Rattlesnake checks on all three. Everything else is B.S.

A fellow musician on my church worship team has several Rattlesnake cables and referred me to check out the website. I had admired the uniqueness and quality of his cables so I took a look and was very impressed. Not long afterward, I ordered the Snakehead 10 ft. cable in blue which is a stunning color. Hank sent me emails thanking me for my order, giving me an update on the status and made a personalized YouTube video as well. I thought that was a very cool, personal touch for customers. You will immediately appreciate the beauty and quality of these cables from the cable skin to the plug wrappings. I like the black on mine because I tend to loop the cable around my strap without worrying about the cable rubbing against my bass guitar's finish. I have recommended the Rattlesnake company to my fellow musicians and will definitely order more cables from Hank in the near future.
