What does TRS stand for?
TRS is an acronym that stands for Tip, Ring, and Sleeve - which reference the conductors of the plug. With each TRS cable, a 20AWG conductor would be connecting to the tip contact of the plug, a conductor on the ring contact of the plug, and the internal braided copper shield is bound to the plug's shield.
What is a TRS Cable?
A TRS instrument cable is a simple cable containing two internal conductors and a shield. Standard instrument cables use a single conductor and shield. The purpose of this type of cable is to pass a pair of signals instead of a single signal.
For example a TRS cable could be used as a stereo cable passing left and right signals in a single cable – like an auxiliary cable or headphone extension cable. A TRS cable for guitar could be used to pass multiple pickup sources (piezo and magnetic pickup) down a single cable. A TRS audio cable could also be used as an XLR or balanced cable used in many recording interfaces.

Our primary instrument, speaker, XLR, TRS, and Flex patch cables are built using Rattlesnake-brand bulk cable that is custom manufactured for us in the United States. We developed the specifications for each cable based on the flexibility, durability, handling, and electrical performance we wanted. It is not off-the-shelf Belden, Mogami, Canare, or another manufacturer’s finished cable covered with an outer weave.After the bulk cable is manufactured to our specifications, every finished cable is cut, sleeved, soldered, tested, and packaged by our team in Missoula, Montana.
Some specialized products use third-party bulk cable when it is the best fit for that application. When they do, we identify the cable manufacturer and model in the product’s Specifications tab.
Complete construction and electrical details, including conductor material, wire gauge, capacitance, shielding, and cable diameter, are provided in the Specifications section of each applicable product page.

It depends on the signal being passed down the TRS. A balanced signal is a pair of the exact same signal but with one signal inverted (180 degrees out of phase) relative to the other. Where a stereo signal is not equal - one represents the right side of the stereo field, and the other line is the left.Answer

Typically, for an instrument cable, you should be using a mono / unbalanced instrument cable, but some instruments have additional lines for different pickups where both pickups are separated but going down a single cable. Some Rickenbacker instruments, acoustic guitars, etc, use this - and in that case, you should use a TRS cable. 99% of the time, you should be using a Standard Instrument cable unless otherwise noted.Answer
The weave is a poly-weave, meaning it's a plastic polymer-based weave. We use a variety of brands, but primarily TechFlex. It's designed to be heat and abrasion resistant. It is not a cloth/fabric weave, which tends to fray and stain easily.

I used to build my own custom cables so I know the amount of love that goes into each wiring. I have since purchased and used every known high end cable manufacturer on the market always chasing the best and most accurate possible signal for my guitar rig. I have tested them under the most rigorous performance standards, studio and live. When I first felt the thickness, quality and flexibility of the four channel loom I purchased I was impressed. When I jacked it into my rig I was totally blown away. It not only equaled my current cabling but actually surpassed it with a clarity I had not yet heard before. The fact that I was able to tell a difference even with my current set of patch and instrument cables is beyond impressive in my opinion. I am totally sold on this company for the rest of my cabling needs. I also love and appreciate the amazing personal touch which is missing in todays world of fast paced, impersonal corporate grab. Musicians interact with each other as a part of what we do and it seems Hank has carried his jam straight thru everything does. AB COMPARISON/OBSERVATION Asterope 10’ studio gold and Rattlesnake 15’ gold - Asterope has slight more high end clarity… Rattlesnake has slight more midrange bump. So GOOOD!! I purchased a 20 foot seafoam gold end beginning of lockdown, and the tonal improvement was literally WIDE EYED WOW! Love the heavy duty, and wayyy quieter (like microphonically much quieter than a fatsoflex even and those were my live "quiet" cord standard). So,during live stage (lour volume) use, I was using a big name $$$ cable. The Rattlesnake Seafoam Snake Head gold ends direct to Mesa Mark 4 (a noisy higher gain amp) dethroned that. Really big difference. Quieter and just overall clearer and better sounding, straight to amp, secret weapon! So I decided to do my whole pedalboard in Mean Green gold ends. The improvement again, in clarity and just bigger overall sound, hard to describe. So much worth the $$$ that I'm measuring out all my fx cables, dozen or so amp sends from my board and any other signal cables flowing through my rig. Mean Green of course. *I'd like to mentions, the turnaround time, was ONE DAY from order to ship!!! NO himmmhawwing or excuses. I emailed an order for 10 custom cables Thursday. An hour or so later Hank had already helped me further refine my order for my board exactly, and it was completed and shipped Friday. Hank also made me a personalized thank you video. Model business. Perfect service. The cables are SO much better than my hodgepodge, spaghetti bowl of mixed "quality brands I won't name. No need. They're all getting sold and like I said, a dozen amp or more cables from board (10-20 footers there), some fx cables, rack cables and some others are on the list to order now. I'd absolutely recommend these wires to anyone looking to upgrade their guitar signal chain. Without hesitation and without buying into internet snakeoil, BUY a Rattlesnake guitar cable and see for starters HOW much better they sound. SO good!! THOUGHTS ABOUT OUR SERVICE: Amazing.
