No, our cables are not directional. If you're purchasing a Snake Head, the Snake Head portion should be on the instrument side, but that only is cosmetic. The cable will work fine if plugged in any direction.Answer
The Snake Head is only needed if you're concerned about finish wear if you have vintage or sensitive finishes like thin nitro, etc. If you don't care (or even want the wear) a Standard is great for the primary instrument cable. If this cable is going from pedalboard to amp, then it should be a Standard to ensure maximum protection of the cable.Answer
A silent plug is not necessarily an "upgrade". Typically, a silent plug is for acoustic players who do not have the ability to mute their signal and would unplug their instrument. If you're an electric player with a Tuner or Volume pedal, then you don't really need a silent plug. Silent plugs are great, but they do provide another potential point of failure - so I always recommend, if you don't need the feature, purchase a standard plug.Answer
Some of our customers swear by gold contacts. Some of our customers can't hear a difference. Gold does provide a better contact surface, but the signal improvement may be hard to notice. Some of our customers (including myself) just like the cosmetic look of the black shells with gold contacts. If you're in a humid climate and deal with corrosion, gold might be better for you as well.Answer
When people read that, the first assumption is that the copper is somehow 'air tight'. Nope. OFBC is part of the smelting process where the oxygen molecules are smelted out or removed to a point where it's below .001%. This makes a very pure copper allowing for great conductivity.Answer
We have a variety of wire mills that we work with. All of the wire mills we work with our in the United States. We take extreme pride that our cable is milled in the United States and hand assembled here in Missoula, Montana.Answer
The weave is a poly-weave, meaning it's a plastic polymer-based weave. We use a variety of brands, but primarily TechFlex. It's designed to be heat and abrasion resistant. It is not a cloth/fabric weave, which tends to fray and stain easily.

We take great pride that our custom instrument, XLR, and speaker cables are milled in the United States. All of our milled cables are built to our specifications here in the states and then soldered by hand in Missoula, Montana, by our great team!

Just received my order of a loom and guitar cable. Wow! Meticulous packing! This thing is awesome! A-B channel and reverb switch for my Supro. Works perfectly…and the guitar cord doesn’t curl! I've been a professional musician since the age of 19 (66 now). I've used every cable you can name. Mogami, D'Addario, Asterope, Armour Gold, ProCo, George L's, Lava and probably some I forgot. Ironically after seeing and hearing a great deal of buzz about Rattlesnake Cables I was in a music store in Boise, Idaho about 2 years ago and on a rack were some Rattlesnake Cables. I thought what the heck I would give it a try. When I got home I compared it to my Armour Gold, D'Addario American Stage and my Lava cable. No contest. The Rattlesnake cable was more balanced and had better cleaner more articulate mids, highs, and low frequency than all of the cables I was using. I also like the fact that the outside material is durable but not stiff. I now have at least 6 guitar cables in a variety of colors (I dig the Black Widow and Purple the most) and probably 18 patch cables of different lengths. The patch cables are now on my full size pedalboard, my alternate pedalboard, and my acoustic pedalboard. I'm done chasing the best sound for my guitar rigs I know I found it. THOUGHTS ABOUT THE SERVICE FROM Rattlesnake Cables: Hank and his team are terrific. They know it's a competitive world out there and there are so many choices in purchasing guitar cables and patch cables. Their Customer Service is 2nd to none. Always on time and most of the time exceed my expectations. I'm waiting for a curly cable throwback to the 60's, those were some of the first cables I ever used as a kid.
