Sidewinder Blue Snake Heads

We are offering a limited run of our Sidewinder Blue Snake Head Cable! This new blue-and-black Sidewinder weave is wrapped over our custom US-milled cable, creating a killer pattern with a bold Rattlesnake look. These also come with super limited black shrink tubes with gold ink for an extra touch of boutique cool. Very cool!

"Snake Head," as we like to call it, is a cable with the weaving stopping short on the instrument side of the cable. This leaves a portion of the raw cable touching your instrument's finish instead of the weave. It's perfect when running your cable between the strap and instrument body.

We will be offering this for a limited time.

Conductor/Shield 99.95% OFBC. Capacitance at 20-25pF/ft. Braided copper shield (95% coverage). 20AWG conductor. Cable milled in the United States. Black PVC.

What about warranty? - Lifetime warranty baby!

Answer
A Snake Head is a cable that has the outer weaving stop short on the instrument side of the cable. This is a cosmetic feature, especially nice if you have vintage or sensitive finishes and you're concerned about the weaving causing wear on the instrument if you run the cable between the strap and instrument body.
Answer
No, our cables are not directional. If you're purchasing a Snake Head, the Snake Head portion should be on the instrument side, but that only is cosmetic. The cable will work fine if plugged in any direction.
Answer
The Snake Head is only needed if you're concerned about finish wear if you have vintage or sensitive finishes like thin nitro, etc. If you don't care (or even want the wear) a Standard is great for the primary instrument cable. If this cable is going from pedalboard to amp, then it should be a Standard to ensure maximum protection of the cable.
Answer
A silent plug is not necessarily an "upgrade". Typically, a silent plug is for acoustic players who do not have the ability to mute their signal and would unplug their instrument. If you're an electric player with a Tuner or Volume pedal, then you don't really need a silent plug. Silent plugs are great, but they do provide another potential point of failure - so I always recommend, if you don't need the feature, purchase a standard plug.
Answer
Some of our customers swear by gold contacts. Some of our customers can't hear a difference. Gold does provide a better contact surface, but the signal improvement may be hard to notice. Some of our customers (including myself) just like the cosmetic look of the black shells with gold contacts. If you're in a humid climate and deal with corrosion, gold might be better for you as well.
Answer
When people read that, the first assumption is that the copper is somehow 'air tight'. Nope. OFBC is part of the smelting process where the oxygen molecules are smelted out or removed to a point where it's below .001%. This makes a very pure copper allowing for great conductivity.
Answer
We have a variety of wire mills that we work with. All of the wire mills we work with our in the United States. We take extreme pride that our cable is milled in the United States and hand assembled here in Missoula, Montana.
Answer
The weave is a poly-weave, meaning it's a plastic polymer-based weave. We use a variety of brands, but primarily TechFlex. It's designed to be heat and abrasion resistant. It is not a cloth/fabric weave, which tends to fray and stain easily.

Rattlesnake Cable Company provides premium quality products at a competitive price and has customer service far and above any retailer I have ever done business with. I purchased a TRS to Dual Mono Splitter with custom made TRS and mono cables to enable the stereo Ric-O-Sound feature on my Rickenbacker 360/12 guitar and it works flawlessly. The company owner sent me a personal video thanking me for my purchase! Thank you again, Rattlesnake Cable Company!

I recently was in the market to replace my instrument cable and pedal board patch cables. When researching high performance cables I ran across Rattlesnake cable company. After visiting their website and reading about the process that goes into every cable they make, I decided to buy a 10' snakehead instrument cable from them. Within a couple of days I received the cable and was very impressed with the quality, durability, tone and attention to detail they put in to it. I was so impressed I decided to buy a 6 pack of 8" flex patch pedal cables, those came in a couple of days and I was just as impressed as I was with the snakehead instrument cable. I'm very happy I went with Hank and the rattlesnake team, I will be purchasing all my audio cables from rattlesnake here on out. As far as my online shopping experience with them, it was one of the best online purchase experiences for me and their customer service, personable manner to all their customers is great! I highly recommend Rattlesnake Cable Company for all your audio cable needs. Hank and the Rattlesnake team will treat you right and you won't regret it.
