I used to believe that as long as cables were built well, they were all basically the same. I didn't have Mog***I or any crazy big names, but my cables were decent and that seemed fine. Then I bought 2 Snakehead instrument cables, a speaker cable, and an IEC cables from Rattlesnake and took them to the studio. Swapping those 4 cables...and doing nothing else...showed a -2db drop in the noise floor on my rig. An SM57 into a preamp into a DAW, with digital metering, does not lie or exaggerate. My rig shed -2db of noise just by adding 4 Rattlesnake cables! Once I picked my jaw up off the control room floor, I ordered Ultraflex cables to repatch my pedalboard with. The following weekend, my band Trash Diva played the annual MacRock fest. Bands we've known for years and played with many times complimented my tone and the clarity of my sound for the first time ever.
