Over the years, we've been making a variety of cables for upright bass / double bass players. They've been a fan of our popular Snake Head style cable where the weaving stops short on the instrument side of the cable. The upright bass players prefer this for their finish, also allowing for a bit more flexibility to wrap around their tailpiece, etc.
We talked to a few upright bass players and are now offering a specific cable for these instruments. It uses the same underlying instrument cable as our Standard and Snake Head, etc. But the one change we are adding is the plug on the Snake Head side of the cable. We are using G&H Right Angle GGN (same as our Pro Patch) and G&H Straight (GN) for the instrument plug? We chose this to provide a lighter solution and a plug with a slimmer profile compared to the Neutrik plugs. On the other end of the cable (the side that would be connecting to an amp / pre-amp, etc) we will go with our Standard Neutrik Gold Plugs.
We wanted to offer the G&H Right Angle - ideal of 1/4" jacks mounted between the A and D string. With newer set ups like The Shadow Rockabilly Pro, the G&H Straight Plug might be the best option.
Some of you players might also require a TRS cable. Contact us via the Custom Cable Build Request form, and we can help you out with that solution.

We take great pride that our custom instrument, XLR, and speaker cables are milled in the United States. All of our milled cables are built to our specifications here in the states and then soldered by hand in Missoula, Montana, by our great team!
