When flexibility is essential and getting into tight spaces on your pedalboard, we are offering the Flex Patch Cable! We feel this is one of the best guitar patch cables on the market. If you're looking for durability in a soldered patch cable, look no further!

This cable is our new patch cable with Bare Copper 20AWG conductor and Bare Copper spiral shielding with 98% coverage and a smaller diameter than our instrument cables (.230"). The Flex Patch comes with Rattlesnake RCC Star Audio Pancake plugs with gold signal contacts. We prefer the Rattlesnake RCC Star Pancake plug due to its low profile, but mainly because of its signal/shield lug contacts!

The Flex Patch will come in the following lengths - 6", 8" and 10". Our Flex Patch has a flat price of $10 for each of the 3 lengths. However, any cable length can be made, and we will adjust the price accordingly. If you're looking for custom guitar patch cables for your pedalboard, submit a custom build request. You can upgrade to RCC GGN Right Angle or Square Plug SPS6-S Stubby Straight plugs as well!

Please note, Rattlesnake RCC Star pancakes are great for pedals placed close together - side by side. The pancakes offer a shallow height profile but a more prominent profile in width. Because of this, if you have jacks close together (for example - stereo outs on a pedal or loop strips), you may need to go with a RCC Right Angle to get plugs closer together. The Square Plug SPS6-S Stubby Straight is great for pedal loop strip systems. You can also mix RCC Right Angle, Stubby Straights, and Rattlesnake RCC Star Pancake - select the appropriate plug before adding them to your cart!

Q: Where is your cable manufactured?

Answer

We have a variety of wire mills that we work with. All of the wire mills we work with our in the United States. We take extreme pride that our cable is milled in the United States and hand assembled here in Missoula, Montana.

Q: Does cable capacitance matter with patch cables?

Answer

Typically, cable capacitance is an issue with longer runs so it's not really an issue with patch cables.

Q: Should I use pancakes or G&H right angle for patch cables?

Answer

That's largely dependent on the application and requirements. Pancakes will give you a lower profile in height, but has a larger footprint on width (.82" wide). Some pedals with narrow jack placement can have issues with pancakes. The G&H right angle has a narrow profile in width (.50"), but is taller than a pancake.

Q: What's the benefit for the G&H stubby straight plugs?

Answer

Stubby straights are great for switching systems or with pedals that have narrow jack placement. The Stubby Straight has a shorter barrel (1.05") length.

Q: Why U-Config vs. S-Config?

Answer

U-Config is the default standard where plugs are facing the same direction. This is ideal for pedals next to each other with jacks on the side. If you have a situation where one pedal has side jacks and the pedal next to it has top mounted jacks - the S-Config fits great. Also, if you require a long patch from one pedal on a bottom row to a pedal on the top row on the opposite side, a S-Config would work great.

Q: I want longer or shorter patch cables listed. How can I purchase?

We offer the most popular lengths for the type of patch cables. If you need something special, please submit a custom build request and we'll get back to you with the ability to purchase your specific cables.

Q: What is the weaving made of?

Answer

The weave is a poly-weave, meaning it's a plastic polymer-based weave. We use a variety of brands, but primarily TechFlex. It's designed to be heat and abrasion resistant. It is not a cloth/fabric weave, which tends to fray and stain easily.

I found my first Rattlesnake instrument cable at a small shop in Orange County, Ca while visiting the area. I was impressed with the build quality and look. I opted for the copper weave. When I got home I showed it to another guitar player friend of mine and he immediately ordered a couple of his own. After several months of using it, I decided to order an XLR in copper to match. Ordering was easy on the website and I was informed each step with a confirmation, build, and shipping. When it arrived I was surprised to see an instrument cable as well.
