I think of it like this. My old "higher capacitance" cable would alter my sound....like changing the harmonic structure so you just get used to how it sounds. You think that it's just fine. You read reviews and hear of some bass players who are satisfied with their old mid-priced high capacitance cable and other bass players who try out a low capacitance cable and rave about the sound. So I said to myself...... years ago I changed the speaker wire in my hi-fi sound system to what is now known as OCC copper wire and it transformed my sound system. I looked at the guitar cables that state that they make their cables from OCC copper and their prices are very high and don't have any STYLE! So I thought trying something mid-priced in the guitar cable range and low capacitance at that, would be worth a try. So I got a 20 footer from Rattlesnake Cable Co. I'd describe it like this: my bass overtones were realigned and made more clear. Yes I hear a big difference with my passive bass sound. Not so much in the volume going up but in the clarity of the attack and the structure of the sound. It's more clear, well defined, better attack, more satisfying. Am looking to buying more Rattlesnake cables in the near future. Even my mother's ears with hearing aids heard a difference! Oh yeah and I love the snake head end style as it connects to my bass too!

Needless to say some cables don't hold up more than one or two weeks of use and abuse. That is until I tried the Rattlesnake brand of cables. First they are really cool looking and neat to an 8th grade mind. Most importantly they are durable and can withstand the constant abuse that a 13 year old rock guitar student can dish out. I cannot recommend them any higher than that! They are still in use and have beat all of my current brands (Monster, Planet Waves and Mogami) hands down. I am slowly replacing my entire stock of instrument, speaker, and mic cables with Rattlesnake brand cables at our Academy of Fine Arts located in Plano Texas.
