I was honestly a skeptic, and figured since I only use 10' cables for recording, cable quality would make little difference. I always used cheap cables until I got tired of them failing on me and bought a 10' Rattlesnake cable and a couple of jumper patch cables for my effects loop. I was surprised to find that apparently my instrument cables had apparently been a significant noise source. The Rattlesnake cable was completely silent even with guitars I just thought had noisier pickups. In addition, the jumper cable I was using on my board apparently was draining quite a lot of high-end off, which I learned after swapping in one of the Rattlesnake jumpers. I ended up with a second order to replace all the patch and jumper cables in my setup, and a spare 10' cable. My new setup clearly retains more top end and is more quiet than I thought was possible. I didn't play a lot of high gain before and just accepted the noise when I did, but even high gain is no problem now. I'm sold!

When I was trying to decide which cables to buy for my setup I got an email from Rattlesnake checking if I had any questions. I emailed back outlining what I was trying to do, and they let me know they had an overstock cable on hand that fit what I needed, so I even got a discount! Many years ago now I met Hank Donovan on the guitar forums on Farcebook. he was always an ace dude, and when I found out about his product, I was intrigued. As a professional musician, I really wanted to check it out, but the higher price kept me at bay... a false economy triggered by stupidity. recently, Rattlesnake was having a sale, so I decided to try one. it was a class act all the way as an experience, including some unexpected perks like messages to let me know my cable was in process, and even a video from hank thanking me for my purchase. it arrived a couple days later in a nice hemp stash bag, and MAN! this sucker is INDESTRUCTABLE. even my 400 lb ass standing on the thing won't crush it's protective sheathing. the ends are SOLID and perfectly protected with shrink wrap. the bare end for the guitar is a great touch, as its way more flexible than the sheathed part of the cable. tonally it's very clear sounding, with a nice phase alignment.... ie, the bass/mids/trebs all seem equal and balanced which can be a hat trick with any cable... often they suck highs or lose lows. this thing sounds great. every aspect of the deal was pretty sweet. the cable may have SEEMED expensive, BUT IN REALITY it's gonna outlast every other cable I've ever owned, I can tell already... hell, I paid more for a monster cable in the past that never made it 10 years before screwing up. I've gone thru probably a thousand dollars of cables over the last couple decades... but this cable will likely last me MY last couple decades. I chose the rattlesnake cover personally, cuz it was so dang cool looking but they have all kinds of other covers you can choose. factor in the custom shop aspect where you can choose your options, and this may well be the finest cable monger on the entire earth. Frankly, I was shocked at how awesome they were! Sunday on Memorial Day weekend, I submitted a custom build request. Hank got back to me within an hour. After some back and forth ON THE SAME DAY, they finished my build and had a shipping label created. I never expected that kind of service/quickness, especially over the holiday weekend. What’s not to like about Rattlesnake cables? They are tough, spool up well for tidy packing, and unfurl beautifully for layout wherever you need them. I have been using Hank’s cables since he first developed them and have no desire to use anything else.
