I've been playing bass for nearly twenty years and in all that time I've paid attention to guitar, amp and cab quality. I've nitpicked over cab - mics and foot pedals. I however, have never paid very close attention to cable quality. I had a serviceable cable that lasted me nearly 15yrs but never thought I could ask for more than an instrument cable that didn't hum, hiss or break. When my cable finally broke I set out to find a quality replacement that would last as well if not better with a good clean signal. I bought what I thought would be a durable middle priced ($45) cable only to find it cutting out and popping in less than a year. Upset, I decided to do a deep dive into researching cables, I looked at Mogami and while I was jazzed about the claims of having noticeably better sound quality I was not thrilled about the price or the fact that they didn't offer any sort of braiding or protective mesh for their cables (great for studio not for gigging). I also have been trying to be more intentional about supporting American made products when I can. I happened to see some YouTube reviews on Rattlesnake cables and along with my own comparison saw this as possible American alternative to a Mogami and one that also seemed as focused on durability as it was sound quality (Lower Cost Too). I also loved the build to order approach (Most companies only offer a single end right angled. A custom made cable meant I could get it exactly the way I wanted). Also loved the snake head idea since I do like to loop my cable through my strap. Well, the cable came in and the first time I tried it I was Blown Away! I pretty much always run direct into boards these days and both I, the band and the sound tech agreed it sounded like I had a new guitar! It was louder, clearer, more detailed and better balanced. As a bassist I've often had to deal with my low end over powering my mid and upper strings especially in my in-ear monitor. Now, my signal for a a high G comes in every bit as strong and clear as a low B with greater detail in both. It's the only thing I've changed! I have to admit I had no idea cable quality could make such a difference. It's tough as nails too! Stiffer than what I'm used to but it gives it a bullet proof built feel. Between the customer service, the quality build and the improvement in sound performance. I'll never get cables anywhere else and I'll tell any one the same. Thanks for really Delivering! I ordered my products in 2 ordered because I realized I needed a TRS cable after ordering the splitter. Everywhere else had short cables and Rattlesnake was the only one I could find to offer 20ft length. So I ordered it on a separate order. I got a call later that day and the person I spoke to said there was a Halloween discount starting the day, after speaking they gave me the discount and merged my order to get her to save on shipping. In total they saved me $30, they offered to give a refund, gift card, or 4 6”cables. I chose the cable, being $10 each I ended up getting one of the patch cables free. And coming from Montana to Ohio it took no time for it to come in. And they added free sticker and a notepad! I definitely am pleased with the experience and will recommend and be a returning customer!
