Sometimes they bunch up in weird ways and wonât lay flat. Or theyâre too stiff for instrument use. But the Rattlesnake weave is perfect. It has an unusually coarse texture. I don't worry about the ends coming loose or dodgy because of the care taken in the way the ends are attached and wrapped. Speaking of the outer cover, I never have to worry about who's cables are mine because they all match and they stand out in a good way. Aside form how excellent the cables are themselves, the speed of getting my orders built and sent out are unmatched. The packaging shows how much care is taken to have a product that stands above others. If you aren't sure and are reading this, do yourself a favor and get some. You won't regret it!

I bought a couple of Rattlesnake Instrument Cables in Ash weave after losing my longtime favorite cables from another premium manufacturer.
Braided cables can be hit or miss for me. Sometimes they bunch up in weird ways and wonât lay flat. Or theyâre too stiff for instrument use. But the Rattlesnake weave is perfect. It has an unusually coarse texture. But it lays flat, coils easily (and properly), and is flexible enough.
The plug connections are reinforced with stiff rubber. And I like that the outer jackets wonât inadvertently spin open. The rubber obstructs access to the solder joints. But with such heavy duty construction, canât foresee the connections being severed in any scenario.
The Ash color is like a sandy gray. It looks gray straight on. But has a hint of brown when seen at an angle. Itâs more interesting and distinguishable than plain black. But subdued enough to not be visually distracting on stage.
There are two basic philosophies on instrument cable audio quality. Some cables go for sonic transparency. Others deliberately load the signal down to roll off some highs with a resonant peak at an assumed sweet spot. The Rattlesnakes are on the transparent end of the spectrum. The guitar comes through sounding clear like itself.
I appreciate that Rattlesnake company lists the capacitance and shielding specs instead of printing up fancy packaging with meaningless marketing catch phrases. The capacitance, shielding, and build quality are all that really matter in cables. Everything else is B.S.
Overall, these are my new favorites. Iâll go to Rattlesnake for my future cable needs
