So, I've been playing bass now for 35 years and in that time I've used a LOT of stuff. And while I'm certainly not jaded (I still love it, everything about it), it takes a lot to impress me these days. And while it would be easier to get excited over a well-built, great-sounding bass or amp, with things like cables, not as much. I mean, they're just guitar cables, right? You plug one end into your guitar, the other goes into your amp and you're making noise! What's the big deal? But through casual internet browsing, I happened across Rattlesnake Cable Company and after a thorough perusal I sent them an inquiry for one of their "Snake Head" instrument cables. After a few emails with the owner of the company (yeah, the owner), I placed my order. Now, from reading the description on the website I felt sure that the cable would be very nice. Features such as a heat and abrasion resistant sleeve that runs the length of the cable and heavy-duty Amphenol plugs (I chose a right angle / straight plug configuration) are something you don't see in standard instrument cable fare. Good stuffs there, no doubt! But when I got the cable in, my jaw dropped! This is one massive, burly cable! I mean, you could probably hit this thing with an RPG and it would survive! The packaging and "presentation" impressed me as well! The cable came packed in a metal canister (think those round metal tins you get Christmas cookies in), inside what was meant to appear as a 'snake handling bag' (rattlesnake cables.... Get it?). I like it when a company goes that extra mile for the customer. It tells me they're proud of what they're doing and take it seriously. I've ordered several more and they've all been great! Can't recommend them enough!

As most musicians know, cables can, and will, make or break your show. We've all been there. Our rig is set up, pedal board in place, tubes warming... no sound... Cable failure is one of the most defeating feeling when setting up or in a show and it can hog your attention and exasperate your emotions right when your focus needs to be on your set. I've never thought of cables as being anything other than utilitarian, however the tone clarity Rattlesnake cables provides has truly been inspiring in my playing. I have nice guitars and amps and an expensive pedal board set-up, but my rig has never sounded as good as it does when using Rattlesnake Cables.

Amazing. Hank is incredible and very customer focused. I had an issue with the Neutrik silent plugs (not a Rattlesnake issue) not engaging correctly. Hank immediately fixed the issue and shipped it back at his expense! I'll never buy another brand of cable.

Hank treated me like a rockstar from the first time I contacted him about his cables. His communication was always super prompt and he always has answers for any questions I have. And the cables! Holy crap! I've been playing in touring bands for decades and have used all kinds of gear and my Rattlesnake Cables are probably the most reliable pieces of gear I have. The builds are amazing and I think they are actually from Planet Crypton because I don't think they can be broken. Mine have been run over by heavy bass and guitar cabs, drum hardware cases, pissy sound men and all manner of absent-minded musician types (i.e. drummers). I've never had to worry about them not working the next night in the next town (or the next night at practice). Why buy a nice, expensive guitar and amp and then skimp on the cables? Get in touch with the fine folks at Rattlesnake and you can thank me later.
