My favorite length for studio and small venues is 12', and I have those made custom. The snake heads are perfect with an angled plug on one end, and look great with my '59 P-Bass! I have a 20-footer that reaches my couch from across the room for practicing guitar in lazier times. I also have shorter XLRs for recording. See pics.

This thing gets delivered, and simply opening the box is a real treat. I almost felt like I was opening a new iPhone, to be honest. I pull the cable out, and immediately I can tell this is absolutely the best feeling cable that I have ever laid my hands on.
